Sulfamonomethoxine is a bacteriostatic sulfonamide antibiotic which acts as a folic acid synthesis inhibitor.
|Mechanism of Action||Like most sulfonamides, sulfamonomethoxine inhibits folic acid synthesis by acting as a competitive inhibitor of dihydropteroate synthetase, an enzyme found in the folic acid synthesis pathway.|
