Adenine 9-ß-D-arabinofuranoside (Vidarabine) is a purine nucleoside with anti-viral activity against some DNA viruses including herpesviruses and varicella zoster viruses.
Mechanism of Action | Adenine 9-ß-D-arabinofuranoside (Vidarabine) inhibits DNA synthesis in DNA viruses by becoming incorporated into viral DNA and ultimately producing a faulty DNA sequence. |
Spectrum | Adenine 9-ß-D-arabinofuranoside is active against poxviruses, herpesviruses, rhabdoviruses, and hepadnaviruses. |
Molecular Formula | C10H13N5O4 |
