Sulfamerazine is a bacteriostatic sulfonamide antibiotic. Sulfamerizine is essentially insoluble in water at 0.20 mg/mL.TOKU-E offers two forms of sulfamerazine: sulfamerazine (S033) and sulfamerazine sodium (S059).
Mechanism of Action | Like most sulfonamides, sulfamerazine inhibits folic acid synthesis by acting as a competitive inhibitor of dihydropteroate synthetase, an enzyme found in the folic acid synthesis pathway. |
Spectrum | Sulfamerazine is a broad spectrum antibiotic targeting a wide range of Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. |
