    Teicoplanin A2-5

    $205.00 - $715.00

Teicoplanin A2-5 is the most non-polar analog of a family of lipoglycopeptides produced by Actinoplanes teichomyceticus. Teicoplanins possess potent broad-spectrum antibiotic activity against Gram-positive bacteria, including MRSA and E. faecalis.

Teicoplanin A2-5 is soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF and DMSO.

    Molecular Formula C89H99Cl2N9O33
    Microbiology Applications

Teicoplanin is commonly used in clinical in vitro microbiological antimicrobial susceptibility tests (panels, discs, and MIC strips) against Gram-positive isolates.  Medical microbiologists use AST results to recommend antibiotic treatment options.  Representative MIC values include:

    • Clostridium difficile 0.125 µg/mL – 0.25 µg/mL
    • Staphylococcus aureus ≤ 0.12  µg/mL – 8 µg/mL
