    Teicoplanin A2-4

    $205.00 - $715.00

Teicoplanin A2-4 is an analog of a family of lipoglycopeptides produced by Actinoplanes teichomyceticus. Teicoplanins possess potent broad spectrum antibiotic activity against Gram-positive bacteria, including MRSA and E. faecalis.

Teicoplanin A2-4 is soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF and DMSO.

    Molecular Formula C89H99Cl2N9O33
Spectrum Teicoplanin has antibiotic activity against Gram-positive bacteria.
    Microbiology Applications

Teicoplanin is commonly used in clinical in vitro microbiological antimicrobial susceptibility tests (panels, discs, and MIC strips) against Gram-positive isolates. Medical microbiologists use AST results to recommend antibiotic treatment options.  Representative MIC values include:

    • Enterococcus faecalis 0.06 μg/mL - 0.25 μg/mL
    • Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus 0.125 μg/mL - >64 μg/mL
