6-(γ,γ-Dimethylallylamino)purine riboside (2-iP riboside) is a cytokinin growth regulator which can be produced endogenously by plants to direct differentiation of callus cells. It is currently being investigated as an emerging anticancer compound. It demonstrates the ability to induce cell cycle arest and apoptosis.
6-(γ,γ-Dimethylallylamino)purine riboside is freely soluble in HCl and sparingly soluble in water.
