Carbadox

Carbadox is a broad spectrum antibiotic commonly used as a in-feed additive for swine production to improve feed efficiency and to prevent dysentery and swine enteritis. Carbadox has been shown to induce phage encoded Shiga toxin production in Shiga toxin producing Escherichia coli or STEC.
