Dermcidin is an antimicrobial peptide (AMP) expressed in human sweat glands and is part of the human body's innate immune defense. Several truncated versions of dermcidin naturally occur in sweat, several of them showing broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, and antifungal activity against Candida albicans.
