    Evoxanthine is a furoacridone alkaloid isolated from Evodia xanthoxyloides by Hughes and Neill, University of Sydney, Australia in 1949. Evoxanthine is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli, B. subtilis and M. luteus, however its bioassay profile has not been extensively investigated.
