    Hainanmycin Sodium

    $110.00

Hainanmycin Sodium is a polyether antiibiotic derived from Streptomyces padanus var. dangfangeusls from the soil of Hainan Island in China, hence the name. It exerts its anticoccidial effect against many species causing avian coccidiosis. Despite being widely used, few publications are available. It can be used in food safety applications to detect antibacterial residues.

Mechanism of Action Hainanmycin Sodium has a monoacid polyether structure. It has anti-insect, anti-bacterial and growth-promoting role. It interferes with the biofilm, competing with coccidia and forming a complex with sodium and potassium.
Spectrum Hainanmycin is against Gram-positive bacteria, some anaerobes, and fungi. It is active against many species that cause coccidiosis in poultry, such as Eimeria tenella and E. necatrix
Microbiology Applications A liquid chromatogrphy-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method relying on mutiple reaction monitoring (MRM) detection was developed for analyzing Hainanmycin in animal feed. Samples were extracted with ethyl acetate adn purified with liquid-liquid extraction (LLE). The limit of detection (LOD) was 0.36 ug/kg and the limit of quantitation (LOQ) was 2 ug/kg.
    Molecular Formula C47H79O15Na
