Nitroferroin (5-Nitro-1,10-phenanthroline) is a high potential oxidation-reduction indicator that was recently identified in a high-throughput screen to have antibacterial effects against
Clostridium difficile (
C. diff). It was highly effective in vitro and against other
Clostridium spp. and mycobacterium, but no other tested gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Molecular Formula | C12H7N3O2 |
