Omeprazole is an antacid compound which inhibits H+K+ ATPase and Carbonic Anyhdrase; both of which are responsible for gastric acid secretion. Omeprazole is sparingly soluble in water (0.823 mg/mL).
Eukaryotic Cell Culture Applications | Omeprazole can be used in in vitro experiments when used against purified Carbonic Anhydrase and ATPase. Inhibitory effects of omeprazole against purified CA become apparent when used at 10-8 M and higher concentrations. |
