Sitafloxacin Hydrate is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinoline antibiotic that is particularly active against Gram-positive bacteria such as a pneumococci.
Mechanism of Action | Sitafloxacin has been shown to have a dual targeted mechanism of action. Other antibacterial quinolones target DNA gyrase or topoisomerase IV, but sitafloxacin targets both at a very similar rate. This double-target approach lowers the possibility of resistant strains. |
Molecular Formula | C19H18ClF2N3O3• 1.5H2O |
