Streptidine, EvoPure® (dihydrosteptomycin impurity A) is a metabolite derived from streptomycin via acid hydrolysis and has been found to be a leading cause of ototoxicity caused by streptomycin in rat models. The compound has demonstrated physiological properties and has been shown to have antimicrobial activity.
