    Turmerone is a non-polar 1,4-dialkylaryl metabolite isolated as a constituent of essential oil from turmeric (Curcuma longa), a plant with medicinal and culinary use. Turmerone has antimicrobial, insecticidal, larvicidal and antivenom properties against snake bite. Turmerone has reported antitumor activity, to stimulate neural cell development and to act as an immunostimulant.
