    Mex$3,843.00 - Mex$13,377.00

Viridicatin is a fungal metabolite produced by several species of Penicillium and formed by the rearrangement of the benzodiazepine, cyclopenin. Viridicatin is a bioactive quinolone and alkaloid that has potent selective activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, but is inactive against most other bacteria.

Viridicatin is soluble in DMF and DMSO and is moderately soluble in methanol or ethanol.

    Microbiology Applications

Viridicatol is used in allergy research.  In a mouse model of ovalbumin-induced food allergy it was able to alleviate allergy responses (Shu et al, 2020).
