Cryptotanshinone is one of several bioactive tanshinones extracted from the Chinese medicinal herb, Salvia mitiorrhiza. It exhibits a variety of bioactivity including antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, but has more recently gained interest for its anti-cancer properties.
This product is considered a dangerous good. Quantities above 1 g may be subject to additional shipping fees. Please contact us for specific questions.
| Mechanism of Action | Cryptotanshinone's antitumor activity comes from its ability to inhibit STAT3 phosphorylation, which downstream inhibits cell growth promoter cyclin D1, and interferes with apoptosis inhibitors survivin and Bcl-xL. |
