Ribostamycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic and is freely soluble in aqueous solution at 88.7 mg/mL.
Ribostamycin is an aminoglycoside-aminocyclitol antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces ribosidificus, originally from a soil sample in Japan. It is an mportant broad-spectrum antibiotic with important use against human immunodeficiency virus. Resistance to aminoglycosides is a growing concern.
