Sartorypyrone D is a meroterpenoid produced by Neosartorya fischeri FO-5897 and isolated by Omura and co-workers at the Kitasato Institute, Japan, in 2015. Sartorypyrone D is a potent inhibitor of NADH-fumarate reductase and NADH oxidase with IC50 OF 1.7 AND 3.0 µM, respectively. Sartorypyrone D is active against Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis and Kocuria rhizophila) and Mycobacterium smegmatis.
