4-epianhydrotetracycline HCl, EvoPure® (tetracycline impurity D) is a degredation compound of the polyketide antibiotic, tetracycline. 4-epianhydrotetracycline is thought to form in samples of improperly stored tetracycline especially in warm, moist, and acidic environments.
