Δ2-Ivermectin B1a is an irreversible base degradation product of ivermectin found in animals treated with ivermectin and in the environment. Δ2-Ivermectin B1a is formed by rearrangement of the naturally occurring Δ3-group to the 2-position. Despite the importance of ivermectin as an anthelmintic in animal health, there are no published reports of the biological activity or the levels of Δ2-Ivermectin B1a in animals or in the environment.
Δ2-Ivermectin B1a is soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO.
