α-Mangostin is a naturally derived xanthone from the mangosteen fruit. Across many research papers it has demonstrated excellent antioxidant, broad-spectrum antibacterial, antimycobacterial, anti-HIV, antiparasitic and apoptotic activities. Researchers have also reported α-Mangostin as a possible treatment for Alzheimer's disease.
